The 2013 Oluyole Club, Lagos State Bursary Awards application has commenced. To apply for the Oluyole Club Lagos bursary, you must meet the specified requirements, part of which is that you must be currently in Year 2 or advancing to the 200 level of their courses of study in any Nigerian university. 2013 BURSARY AWARD OF OLUYOLE CLUB, LAGOS: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The application process for the 2013 Bursary Award of Oluyole Club, Lagos has commenced. The Award is open to indigent students who are:
  • indigenes of Ibadan.
  • currently in Year 2 or advancing to the 200 level of their courses of study in any Nigerian university.
  • on a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 and above (2nd Class Upper Division) as at the end of the Year 1 examinations.
Each applicants is to send:
a handwritten application, which includes contact details- home address (street and location), email address and telephone number;
a letter of identification from his/her local government of origin;
a letter confirming their studentship, from the Dean of his/her Faculty; and
transcripts or examination results for the previous academic session.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is open to you if you are a resident and citizen of a Sub-Saharan Africa country. You must be a first-time applicant to the University of Toronto who has not yet begun university study elsewhere. If you are a transfer student, you are not eligible for the Program.

In order to be eligible, you must:

be a resident and a graduating high school student of a country within Sub-Saharan Africa;
demonstrate financial need correspondent to that of the lowest two quintiles of your country;
have very strong academic results within your school system;
have a record of leadership and extracurricular involvement;
maintain a strong desire to return to Africa to assist and work towards enhanced regional socioeconomic development;
be graduating from a recognized secondary school, or have completed the necessary academic requirements; and
fulfill the necessary English requirements (dependent on country);
Please note that both academic and English requirements differ based on the country and educational system you are coming from.

Number of Scholarships: 67 scholarships will be offered throughout the life of the program

Value of Scholarship

If selected, you will receive a scholarship equivalent to the costs related to attaining a Bachelor’s degree, including travel, tuition, textbooks, housing, food, and living expenses. You will also receive financial, academic, social, and post-graduation support which will enable you to build experiences and competencies critical for academic success.

Duration of Scholarship: for a four-year undergraduate degree

This scholarship opportunity is available for the St. George campus in first-entry undergraduate programs in either the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.

To apply for the scholarship and for admission, you must submit a completed application package to the University of Toronto by email. Part of the application package includes an application form which you can obtain from your school counsellor or advisor.

A completed application will feature the following components:

A completed application form, with all applicable sections for both applicant and counsellor filled out (including contact information, financial information, personal details and essay questions). To obtain an application form, please speak to your counsellor or advisor.
A scanned copy of all applicable financial documentation.
A scanned copy of your secondary school transcript and any other academic information.

BAT Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA) 2013/2014 Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) Scholarships for Undergraduates– BAT Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA) 2013/2014 Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme is currently accept applications for the session mentioned above.
British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) , in conjunction with British American Tobacco Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA) invites applications from qualified Nigerian undergraduates, for the 2013/2014 Scholarship Scheme.
The Scholarship Scheme is one of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to promote skilled manpower development in Nigeria’s Agricultural sector.
In 2005, the scope of the Scholarship Scheme was expanded to include eligible students from across the country. This expansion was based on stakeholder expectations raised at a stakeholder dialogue session. Ten eligible students are awarded scholarships every year for the duration of their study, with five slots reserved for eligible children of BAT registered tobacco farmers.
In the event that the farmers’ children do not meet the eligibility requirements, those five slots are opened up to candidates from tobacco leaf growing communities (not farmers’ children). In the event that they also do not meet the eligibility requirements, the five slots are opened up to candidates from other parts of Oyo State.
However, students who are children of BAT registered tobacco farmers are now being given the opportunity to apply for other courses asides from Agriculture.

2013/2014 BATN / BATIA SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Scheme is open to:
  • Qualified candidates who are children of BAT registered tobacco farmers.
  • Other qualified candidates from across Nigeria.
Entry Requirements
  • All applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18 years or above
  • For children of BAT registered tobacco farmers – admission to study or registered first year student studying any course in a Nigerian tertiary institution.
  • For other applicants across Nigeria – admission to study or registered first year student studying Agriculture / Agriculture-related course in a Nigerian tertiary institution
  • Holders of the SSCE or its equivalent with at least six subjects passed in one sitting.
Application Closing Date for the 2013/2014 BAT Iseyin Agronomy Undergraduate Scholarship is Monday, 28th October, 2013.
